0 UPSC Exam 2013 Pattern, Eligibility Criteria, Eligibility

Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has been established under the constitution of India. UPSC conducts competitive exams, Interviews. UPSC also advised to the Government regarding the recruitment of various services and posts.

UPSC New Exam Pattern 2013: UPSC conducts exams for civil services as IFS, IAS, IRS, IPS and others. It conducts the exam in three stages

  • 1.    Preliminary Exam.
  • 2.    Main Exam.
  • 3.    Personal Interview.

UPSC Pattern Changes are made for more equality, rationality and simplicity. However final report has not issued. But according to Second ARC there should be two compulsory GS Papers and one essay paper for Mains Exams.

Generally, In Main Examination there are two General Studies Paper and 4 optional subjects paper (2 each). There are total 6 papers of 300 marks each.  So Total Marks are of 1800. Essay Paper is of 200 and Personal Interview will be held of 300 marks. So over all exam is of 2300 marks. A qualifying paper will also be held in this exam.

UPSC Eligibility Criteria:

1.    A person of India, Nepal, Bhutan or the other origin of India may give UPSC Exam.

2.    Candidates who want to appear in this exam should be of age 21 to 30 yrs.

3.    Age Limit as per Gov. Rules and Regulations.

4.    Candidates should have the degree from any recognized university/College.

5.    General candidates may attempt four times and Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe candidates have no restriction. OBC candidates may attempt seven times the UPSC Exam.
